A Little Ritual for Slow, Cozy Days
There’s something about this season that asks us to slow down.
To light a candle. To open a window just slightly. To let warmth gather in our hands.
And lately, this has been my favorite little ritual.
A tea brewed inside an orange. Yes — literally inside an orange. 🍊🔥
It tastes like warm citrus sunshine, toasted almonds, and a tiny bit of magic. But beyond the flavor, it’s the process that makes it special. It feels playful. Unexpected. A little bit nostalgic. The kind of thing you try once and suddenly want to make again and again.
Especially with Fireside Almond (from our siter site)— where gentle nuttiness and soft warmth meet bright citrus in the most comforting way.
How to Brew Tea Inside an Orange
You’ll need:
- 1 organic orange
- 2 tsp Fireside Almond tea
- Hot water
- A glass to place the orange on
How to make it:
- Cut the orange in half and carefully scoop out all the fruit.
- Use a toothpick or skewer to make a few tiny holes in the peel — this becomes your natural tea filter.
- Simmer the orange pulp in water for 1–2 minutes to extract extra citrus flavor.
- Place the hollowed orange shell upside-down over a glass.
- Add 2 teaspoons of Fireside Almond tea into the orange shell.
- Slowly pour the hot orange-infused water over the tea and let it drip gently through.
That’s it.
The water filters through the orange peel, carrying both the tea and the citrus oils with it. What you’re left with is a warm, citrusy, almond-soft cup that feels like autumn giving you a hug.
Why We Love This Ritual
At By Sips, tea has always been about more than flavor. It’s about atmosphere. Texture. Light. The small creative gestures that turn something ordinary into a moment.
Brewing tea inside an orange feels exactly like that. It’s tactile. It’s sensory. It makes you pause.
And the scent while it drips through? Incredible.
I paired mine with a spoonful of chocolate mousse — the richness against the bright citrus and almond notes is quietly perfect.
If you try this ritual, we would love to see it. Tag us and share your version of the moment.
Held Moment. 🍂
